- At 55 mph, while looking at your phone for 5 seconds, you've traveled the length of a football field
- 2 out of 15 7th graders have been injured in crashes involving distracted driving
- 4 out of 15 7th graders know a loved one that has been injured in crashes involving distracted driving.
- Just reaching, dialing, or talking on a phone while driving, increases chance of crashing threefold
- 60% of drivers use their cell phones while driving
- 42% of our youth, feel they can safely text and drive: no such thing

Tips To Prevent Yourself From Texting and Driving:
- Leave the phone to a passenger
- There are apps out there to remind you not to text and drive
- If you're a passenger, keep down the noise and distractions
- NEVER drink and drive
- If it's late at night, do anything you can to keep from getting drowsy
- Also, if it's nighttime, make sure you use your headlights
- Keep Notifications OFF
